The following letter by Pacheedaht Hereditary Chief Frank Queesto Jones and Pacheedaht Chief Councillor Jeff Jones (downloaded from a National Observer article) asserts the right of the Pacheedaht First Nation to manage all forestry activities in Pacheedaht Territory and outlines the Pacheedaht First Nation’s Stewardship Plan for forestry.

The Old Growth Strategic Review is a report by Garry Merkel and Al Gorley (see the BC government page on old growth forests here) that provides recommendations for the future of old growth forests in BC.

This 2020 independent report by Dr. Rachel Holt, Dave Daust and Dr. Karen Price overviews how little old growth is left in BC and recommends an immediate halt to old growth logging. You can read more about the report on the Sierra Club BC website.

A report published by the Ancient Forest Alliance details the results of an old growth study (by Cedar Morton, Ryan Trenholm, and Sarah Beukema of ESSA Technologies, Richard Boyd, and Duncan Knowler of Simon Fraser University) which concluded that the economic value of old growth is higher when left unlogged.
